The Yerevan Cascade is a grand, 78-meter tall stairway located in the Kentron District of Yerevan, Armenia. Designed by architects Alexander Tamanian, Jim Torosian, and Aslan Mkhitaryan, this Art Deco structure is built from travertine and stands as one of the most looked-up sights in the country.

Planning a visit

The best time to visit is during the warmer months, as the climate is quite cold from December through March, with lows reaching -7 °C. Summer months like July and August are hot, with daily highs around 32 °C, making spring or early autumn pleasant for climbing the stairs. The site is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10:00 to 17:00, and Friday through Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00. Admission is 1,000 dram for adults, while children under 12 enter for free.

Located just 1 kilometer from the center of Yerevan, the site is easily accessible. Zvartnots International Airport is the nearest major transit point, situated 11 kilometers away. Visitors can combine a trip to the Cascade with nearby locations such as the Tsitsernakaberd memorial, which is 2.4 kilometers away, or historic sites like Zvartnots Cathedral, Saint Hripsime Church, Etchmiadzin Cathedral, and Garni Temple, all of which are within 20 kilometers.
