The Central–Mid-Levels escalator is an outdoor covered escalator and stair system located in the Mid-Levels of Hong Kong. Opened in 1993, this transit infrastructure is one of the most looked-up sights in Hong Kong according to English Wikipedia data.

Planning a visit

The system operates daily from 08:30 to 22:30. Visitors arriving by air will find the nearest airport, Hong Kong International Airport, located 25 kilometers away. For the most comfortable conditions, consider visiting during the cooler, drier months of November, December, and January, which see high temperatures between 18 °C and 23 °C and fewer rainy days. The months from May through September experience significantly higher rainfall, often exceeding 20 rainy days per month.

Because of its central location, you can combine a trip to the escalator with visits to nearby sites such as Central, located 0.6 kilometers away, or Hong Kong Park, which is 1 kilometer from the area. Other nearby points of interest include the Avenue of Stars at 2.7 kilometers, Happy Valley Racecourse at 3.2 kilometers, and Kowloon Walled City Park at 6.9 kilometers.
