The Johan Cruyff Arena is a stadium in Amsterdam that serves as the home ground for AFC Ajax. Designed by Rob Schuurman and opened in 1996, the facility has a capacity of 54,990. It is currently one of the most looked-up sights in the Netherlands.

Planning a visit

The stadium is located 7 km from the center of Amsterdam and 12 km from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Because the climate in Amsterdam is mildest from June to August, with daily highs around 19 °C to 21 °C, these months are favorable for visiting. Rainfall is distributed throughout the year, though April is generally the driest month, with about 46 mm of rain over 10 days.

Visitors can combine a trip to the stadium with nearby locations in Amsterdam such as the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, and the Portuguese Synagogue, all of which are within 6.4 km. The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam and the Olympic Stadium are also within 7 km.
