Planning a visit

The most suitable time for a visit is during the summer months from June through August. During this period, daily high temperatures range from 19 °C to 22 °C, making outdoor transit between nearby sites more manageable. Travelers should note that July and August also see the highest frequency of rain, with about 16 days of precipitation each month. Winters are cold, with daily highs rarely exceeding 3 °C and lows dropping to -8 °C, which may affect travel plans.

The Storting is located in the center of Oslo. Visitors arriving by air can travel from Oslo-Gardermoen International Airport, which is 37 km from the city. Because of its central location, the building is situated near multiple other points of interest. The Oslo City Hall, Regjeringskvartalet, and the Oslo Cathedral are all within 0.4 km. Additionally, Akershus Fortress sits 0.7 km away, and the Royal Palace is located 0.8 km from the Storting.
