The Singapore Botanic Gardens is a botanical garden and herbarium situated in Tanglin, Singapore. Established in 1859, this 0.49 sq km site is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the most looked-up sights in Singapore, recording 4 million visitors in 2012.

Planning a visit

The climate in Singapore is consistent, with average temperatures ranging between 26 °C and 27 °C year-round. Rainfall occurs throughout the year, with nearly every month seeing rain on at least 17 days. The wettest months are typically November and December, which see over 250 mm of rain, while the drier months of February and June still experience regular precipitation. Because of the consistent heat and frequent rain, visitors should prepare for humid conditions regardless of the time of year.

The gardens are located 2 km from the capital. Travelers arriving by air can reach the site from Seletar Airport, which is 13 km away, or Singapore Changi Airport, located 20 km away. The grounds are open to the public daily from 05:00 to 24:00. Those visiting the area can also access nearby locations such as The Istana, 38 Oxley Road, Little India, Fort Canning Hill, and Chinatown, all of which are within 5 km of the gardens.

Weather by month

Temperatures stay much the same all year, around 27 °C on average. The wettest is December, with about 321 mm of rain.
