Lopé National Park is a 4,942-square-kilometer national park in Gabon, established in 2002. It is part of the Ecosystem and Relict Cultural Landscape of Lopé-Okanda and ranks as the second most looked-up sight in the country. The park is managed by the National Agency for National Parks.

Planning a visit

The park experiences a dry season from June through August, which sees the least rainfall. During these months, rain occurs on only 1 to 3 days. Conversely, the wettest months are October and November, with precipitation occurring on 23 to 25 days. Temperatures remain relatively stable throughout the year, with daily highs ranging from 28 °C to 31 °C and daily lows between 21 °C and 23 °C. Visiting during the dry season allows for easier travel due to the reduced rain.

The park is located 256 km from the capital, Libreville. Travelers arriving by air can use Makokou Airport, situated 194 km away, or Libreville Leon M'ba International Airport, which is 261 km from the park. The site is part of a broader ecosystem, and visitors often explore the surrounding landscapes within the Ecosystem and Relict Cultural Landscape of Lopé-Okanda.
